A little bit of a different route than our usual “This Scene…” breakdown series, I’m excited to be bring a whole new series to my subscribers and for all of the ISA Connect members with the Int’l Screenwriters’ Assoc (ISA). If you’re not yet a Connect member, you should check it out -

ISA Connect - sign up now for $10/month before their monthly membership dues go up! They’re raising their prices very soon, so jump in now.

ISA Connect offers so many resources and opportunities for writers and creatives of all kinds, and with our new ISA Connect Community on Circle, the ISA has its very own social media platform and network. It’s such a fun way to get connected to fellow writers AND watch all of the educational videos that I’ve created for the ISA over the years. I’m also launching a new video interview series and podcast with them where I will be interviewing industry insiders from consultants to producers and fellow writers.

Lots happening over at the ISA, and our community there just continues to grow and grow. We had one of our best months yet in January, so as a way to celebrate, I’m sharing with you the pilot episode of my new ISA video series titled, Short Story Time. I have a bunch of short, 3-minute-or-less stories that I’ve written for the series, and along with me reading the stories to you (sure, if you want them to be bedtime stories…have at it), there will also be images and video accompanying the story to give it more of a cinematic appeal.

On top of that, I will open up Short Story Time to accept submissions from ISA Connect members. I will choose my favorites and create a full episode on your short story. This will be fun!

The Story Farm is a reader-supported publication. To receive new posts and support my work, consider becoming a free or paid subscriber.

It took a lot of time and energy on my part to get this pilot episode out, so I would love your feedback! And let me know what I can do to enhance it, improve it, or what kind of stories you want to hear.

Writing short stories is such a fabulous way to help us stay in touch with our creative side, our writing talents, and to allow us to veer away from our big writing projects - it’s like an exit ramp for our brains so we can take a pit stop but still exercise and stretch our genius creative brains. Plus, who knows? Maybe one of the short stories you write ends up as a longer form Series or movie, or even just a scene in one of your scripts. It’s a really fun exercise.

So…on to the show! This episode is titled “The Unopened Letter”. It does get a little creepy as it is technically within the suspense and supernatural genre.

I hope you enjoy it!
