Short Story Time - Episode 3 - The Last Page

A Short Story About Time, Regret, and Making New Choices

Hi everyone! A new episode of Short Story Time for you! I’m a bit late getting this out, I admit. Lots has happened over the past week, and I’ve been a bit inundated. Nonetheless, this was a fun one to write and produce. It took a lot of work to get the images right, and to form the AI video in a way that made sense.

A lot of the imagery in the finished video is actually of me and my family! It was fun picking out old photos, and connecting them to the story. This is the first love story for Short Story Time, and I like how it ends with just a simple choice…leaving it open to wonder what might happen after such a decision is made. Nothing is written in stone, especially not our future…but we can take steps toward creating a future we want for ourselves. One choice at a time.

Life can be a whirlwind, to say the least. Friends come and go. We move on, make new decisions, and sadly tend to leave people we used to love behind…for no reason other than time and different choices. I like exploring such an idea of how one choice can make all the difference over the course of a lifetime. It really can. Let’s all vow to make choices that feel satisfying, true, and real. We can’t lie to ourselves.

I hope you enjoy this one! I do want to note that for those of you not on a paid plan with this Substack can view this full video if you’re an ISA member. You can log in to your ISA account at networkisa.org, go to your Dashboard, and click on the blue logo to the right that says “Go to the App”. This will bring you to the new ISA Community where you can view these videos in the What’s New forum.

As always…my little disclaimer…

Yes, I used AI to help put together the visuals for this story. I do not, though, advocate the heavy and extreme use of AI in the full productions of film and TV. The usage here is not for financial gain, but instead to help showcase the power of storytelling, and the talent that our ISA membership base of writers has…which will be on full display very soon as the NEXT Short Story Time video will be from an ISA member. If you have questions or concerns of any kind, I’m happy to discuss. I will never attempt to convince someone to use AI if they are whole-heartedly against it. I completely understand.

Just a reminder…

ISA Connect offers so many resources and opportunities for writers and creatives of all kinds, and with our new ISA Connect Community on Circle, the ISA has its very own social media platform and network. It’s such a fun way to get connected to fellow writers AND watch all of the educational videos that I’ve created for the ISA over the years. I’m also launching a new video interview series and podcast with them where I will be interviewing industry insiders from consultants to producers and fellow writers. Lots happening over at the ISA, and our community just continues to grow and grow.
